A city at night, built partly on a tabletop.
Synthetic Nocturne launched an electric car through a journey across a futuristic city. Practical miniatures were combined with high-speed footage shot on real streets.
Challenge
The client wanted a futuristic city without a heavy visual-effects budget, delivered in sixty and fifteen-second cuts.
Approach
We built detailed miniatures of three streets, filmed them with macro lenses and matched their lighting to plates shot at night in Tokyo.
Result
The film ran across cinema, online and outdoor screens, and the miniature sets were later exhibited at the brand’s launch event.
