Narrative · 2024
A road movie with almost no road and very few words.
The Neon Wilderness follows a travelling salesman searching for a roadside sign he remembers from childhood. The short film explores isolation in rural America through landscape, light and silence.

Challenge
Five shooting days, a crew of nine and locations two hours apart, with most scenes set at dusk.
Approach
We planned every scene around the last forty minutes of daylight and lit night exteriors with practical neon only, shot on large-format digital with anamorphic lenses.
Result
The film premiered at an independent festival in Nevada and screened at eleven festivals in its first year.
